Vacu Vin Concerto 3-Piece Wine Saver Set
Product Review Sturdy, handsome, and many times worth its weight in Burgundy, this wine-saver set preserves opened bottles of wine for up to two weeks. (It won't work with sparkling wines or soft drinks, however.) A simple and ingenious pump fits onto one of the two bottle stoppers that come with the set and pumps the air from a bottle through the stopper, which then seals the resulting vacuum. For precision, the pump clicks when the correct vacuum level has been attained. With no oxygen inside the bottle to turn wine vinegary it stays fresh until the stopper is removed. The matte-black pump and gray stoppers fit onto a stable, shiny black storage base and look elegant as a top hat on the bar. The pump is 6 inches high and the base is 4-1/2 inches wide. --Fred Brack Product Description Preserve your wine longer with this new improved Vacu-Vin Wine Saver. Save the favor of your wine by recorking and removing oxygen that distorts flavor! Keep your opened wine fresh for up to a week! Operation is incredibly simple - just place the Vacu-Pump over the reusable stopper and pump to remove oxygen from the bottle. The Vacu-Vin system removes virtually all the air from the bottle, preventing spillage from oxidation. An efficient and cost effective way to preserve your favorite wines. Includes one pump and stopper. Reader Reviews I've been using Vacu Vin's previous model for years and have been happy with it. The one downside of the earlier offering was that wine lovers never knew when a vacuum was achieved. I used to overpump just to make sure the wine-damaging oxygen was out of the bottle. I got this model in Napa a few months ago and I'm glad I did. While it doesn't deliver on its Concerto promise, it does give you reassuring clicks when a vacuum has been reached, enabling you to stop pumping sooner. It's a nice refinement. The only downside over the previous model is that it won't work with the marinating device sold separately because the bottom is configured differently from the earlier model.
