When a job calls for laser-precise horizontal and plumb settings, the CST/Berger LaserMark GizmoLite 4 straight-line laser cross level is the tool for the job. The GizmoLite projects clean, accurate beams of laser light at both level and plumb, with an accuracy of 5/32 inches at 30 feet and a recommended working range of up to 32 feet. The unit works effectively on any flat surface and can be wall or tripod mounted for added convenience. A vertical laser line from the top of the unit runs contiguous from the primary vertical line, extending the line onto the ceiling and giving it a total arc of more than 180 degrees. This added beam is especially nice for overhead work, like lining up a drop panel ceiling or aligning objects on the ceiling with objects on the wall or floor. The GizmoLite is also very compact: the instrument and mount weigh a mere 1.8 pounds combined. The unit runs on three AA batteries and comes with a pair of red-tinted, impact resistant safety glasses and a graduated ring that snaps onto the wall/tripod mounting cup to create a reference for turning angles.--Carl Thress
