Samsung DVD-VR375 Tunerless 1080p Up-Converting VHS Combo DVD Recorder
Product Description This versatile unit records both DVD discs and VHS tapes, delivering crisp pictures and high-quality sound. Transition those VHS family videos to DVD. Samsung's DVD-VR375 provides up-conversion to 1080p and an easy recording feature to help you immediately master the process. Reader Reviews I just got this about a week ago. I have two other DVD recorder/VCR combos. One is an Allegro, which is a good machine, and the other is a Magnavox. This is a much better machine by far. Before I go further, all you folks who have a fascination for the bells and whistles, you may be disappointed. It does have the angle function for those rare videos that include it. It DOES NOT have a tuner, or a zoom function. I have it connected to a 42" Toshiba Regza Full HDTV ( 1080p ) using an HDMI connection. I have watched several "standard" Definition DVDs and all I can say is WOW!!!. I do not have HD service as yet, and have been running from my box thru the Samsung to the TV and upconverting the TV signal. It makes a noticable difference, and will suffice until I get an HD box. This in my opinion, was a good interim choice until the BluRay prices come down. I can't comment on the VCR side as I haven't used it as yet. It has all the typical VCR functions, such as pause, slow, FFW, REW, and frame advance. Charlie S. Comment | Permalink | (Report this)
