If you need to connect your computer with DVI to an HDTV via HDMI use this cable. I have my 37" vizio connect to my PC , DVI plugs to my computer, HDMI side plugs to my TV. With a wireless keyboard and mouse, the surfing experience is awesome. Judging from previous review if you have new devices like PS3 or DVD player with HDMI output you can output to a DVI LCD monitor but chances are you would just output to your large screen HDTV.
